JAIPUR (HAMARA WATAN) Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in a state level programme of dialogue with social security pension scheme beneficiaries will transfer the increased pension amount of more than Rs 1,005 crore for the month of June and July in the bank accounts of over 50 lakh beneficiaries through direct benefit transfer (DBT).
The Chief Minister will hold a dialogue with the beneficiaries virtually at his official residence at 12 noon on Tuesday. District level beneficiary dialogue proramme will also be organized in all the districts of the state and they will connect with the state level programme through video conference. It is to be mentioned that till now more than 50 lakh beneficiaries have registered themselves in social security pension scheme at the Mehangai Rahat camps started from April 24
Social Security Pension to 93.50 lakh people – Social Justice and Empowerment Secretary Dr. Samit Sharma said that pension through 7 social security pension schemes is being given to ensure economic support to elderly people, single women, specially-abled and small and marginal farmers. At present, 93.50 lakh people are getting the benefit of these schemes.
He said that Gehlot in the budget for the financial year 2023-24 had announced to increase the minimum pension amount to Rs 1000 per month to beneficiaries up to 75 years old. Around 67 lakh pensioners will be benefitted with this announcement and the state government will bear an additional amount of Rs 2,222 crore. The Chief Minister had also announced that the pension amount will auto increase by 15% every year.
35.62 lakh new pensioners linked in 4.5 years – From January 2019 till date, 35.62 lakh new pensioners have been linked with social security pension schemes. In December 2018, 57.88 lakh people were getting the benefit of this scheme. Similarly, pension has been approved to around 13.13 lakh people from October 2, 2021 to till date under auto mode process without any human intervention.
State Government bears more than 96% of the amount – It is to be mentioned that payment of Rs 8775.82 crore has been made to the pensioners till March 31, 2023 in the year 2022-23. Out of this amount, around Rs 350 crore (4%) has been reimbursed by the Central Government to the State while the remaining more than 96% has been borne by the State Government. This shows the social security pension is an important part of the Social Security Model of the Rajasthan Government.
Rajasthan is the only state to induct automatically pension approval without human intervention – Dr. Sharma said that Rajasthan is the only state in the country which automatically issues pension approval without any human intervention. He said that the process of online submission of pension application got simplified from October 2, 2021. In this, without any human intervention, on merely mentioning the Jan Aadhaar number and after the verification of the applicant through biometric from Aadhaar portal, the pension approval is automatically issued and payment to the applicant starts. The applicant for this need not have to go to any office.
Auto approval process, verification through biometric, annual physical verification and payment process have been simplified under the social security pension scheme, so that the payment process is strengthened and payment is made regularly on time.
Beneficiaries number district wise – The amount will be transferred to 2,03,152 pensioners in Ajmer, 2,79,378 in Alwar, 1,30,703 in Banswara, 77,155 in Baran, 1,85,083 in Barmer, 1,75,399 in Bharatpur, 1,96,793 in Bhilwara, 1,42,131 in Bikaner, 87,970 in Bundi, 1,32,621 in Chittorgarh, 1,54,918 in Churu, 1,01,702 in Dausa, 86,701 in Dholpur, 95,769 in Dungarpur, 1,38,720 in Sriganganagar, 1,54,412 in Hanumangarh, 4,41,922 in Jaipur, 29,133 in Jaisalmer, 1,51,340 in Jalore, 1,35,300 in Jhalawar, 1,76,548 in Jhunjhunu, 2,47,115 in Jodhpur, 97,803 in Karauli, 1,17,130 in Kota, 3,02,562 in Nagaur, 1,95,116 in Pali, 57,081 in Pratapgarh, 1,06,237 in Rajsamand, 82,027 in Sawai Madhopur, 2,13,925 in Sikar, 80,179 in Sirohi, 1,29,178 in Tonk and 2,16,766 in Udaipur.
