NEW DELHI (HAMARA WATAN) India has become the country with the highest number of mobile subscriber additions in the world. In the second quarter (July-September) of this year, more than 70 lakh mobile subscribers have increased in India. In this list, China is at second and third position with 50 lakh customers and America with 30 lakh customers.
A total of 40 million new subscribers were added worldwidev – These subscribers have increased due to India’s internet service at cheap rates and perfect competition in the telecom market. During the same quarter, the number of 5G mobile users worldwide has also crossed 130 crores. A total of 4 crore new subscribers were added globally in June this year. With this the total number of customers has increased to 830 crores.
There are 112.5 crore mobile subscribers in India – Their number in India has increased by 70 lakhs to 112.5 crore. During this period, the number of mobile subscribers in China increased by 50 lakhs to 169.5 crores. Apart from this, the number of 5G users has increased by 17.5 crores to 130 crores in the June quarter. 260 communication service providers have launched 5G services in the country, out of which about 35 service providers have launched Standalone (SA) networks.
Broadband’s share in total mobile subscriptions was 88% – Mobile subscriber penetration at the global level was 105%, which means there were 5% more mobile subscribers than the total population. The number of unique mobile customers reached 610 crore in this quarter. The number of mobile broadband subscribers increased by 5% year-on-year to about 10 crore in the second quarter of 2023.
At the same time, the share of broadband in total mobile subscription has increased to 88%. During this period, along with 5G, 4G subscribers also increased by 1.1 crore. Now its number has increased to 520 crores. Let us tell you that 62% of the total mobile users worldwide use 4G service.
3.74 lakh mobile users increased in the country: TRAI – The number of mobile users in the country is continuously increasing. According to the report of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the number of users across the country has increased by 3.74 lakh to 114.36 crore in June 2023. Jio and Airtel continue to add new customers. At the same time, BSNL and Vodafone-Idea are continuously losing their users.
