JAIPUR (HAMARA WATAN) Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will lay foundation of road development works of 2,642 km long roads in 232 urban local bodies on Saturday. Public Works Department (PWD) principal secretary Vaibhav Galriya said that the Chief Minister will virtually lay the foundation of 4,101 works worth Rs 1,428 crore from his official residence.
Galriya said that the Chief Minister in the budget 2023-24 had made many announcements. The works related with PWD are being completed on time. UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal, PWD Minister Bhajanlal Jatav and other guests will be present and public representatives from various districts will virtually join the programme. The programme will be telecast live.
Galriya said that the department in the last four years has developed and constructed 64,946km roads. As per census 2011, a total of 851 villages of population of more than 500 people have been linked and work of linking the remaining villages is constantly going on. He said that the construction works are being completed on time and its quality is also being ensured as per the directions of the Chief Minister.
It is to be mentioned that the Chief Minister will lay the foundation of 25 road development works worth Rs 20 crore in Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage, 174 works of Rs 19 crore in Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater and 11 works of Rs 10 crore in Chomu Municipal Council. Along with, works of approximately Rs 6 crore each in various municipalities of Jaipur district including 11 works in Sambhar, 30 works in Jobner, 41 works in Viratnagar, 26 in Paota Pragpura, 47 works in Kishangarh Renwal, 21 in Bagru, 11 in Chaksu, 14 in Bassi and 41 works in Manoharpur and Naraina. The PWD is getting the works done of 20km in municipality area, 35km in municipal council area and 50km in municipal corporation area.

Hanumangarh – 85 works of Rs 43 crore
Sriganganagar – 141 works of Rs 65 crore
Churu – 316 works of Rs 70 crore
Jaipur – 487 works of Rs 109 crore
Alwar – 441 works of Rs 119 crore
Sikar – 205 works of Rs 74 crore
Jhunjhunu – 213 works of Rs 80 crore
Dausa – 100 works of Rs 39 crore
